Industry standard audio digitisation services

Infidel Studios digitises audio from a wide variety of analogue and legacy digital sources.

Our work is completed in accordance with the internationally recognised audio archiving digitisation standard (IASA-TC04), to ensure the highest quality outcome for your audio files.

Infidel Studios can digitise most digital and analog audio formats, so please feel free to ask about other formats you may have that are not listed here. We have a large collection of many vintage and esoteric machines, and access to many others. If we don’t have the machines on hand to digitise and archive your sound files, we can usually locate the appropriate machine in good condition.

Analogue formats we digitise include:

1/4″ reel to reel tape. From 15/16 ips up to 30 ips. Full track, half track and quarter track.
Cassette tapes
Vinyl records, including 78s.
2″ 16 track tape
1/2″ 16 track tape
Mini Cassettes and Microcassettes

Legacy digital formats we digitally transfer include:

DAT cassette tapes
MiniDiscs
DA-8 cassette tapes
ADAT cassette tapes (with prior arrangement)

We have numerous 1/4″ open reel, DAT and MiniDisc machines which allows us to do 4-way ingest for these formats. Multiple ingest allows an economy of scale that means large projects are done in less time and the costs per finished hour of material are reduced.

All analogue audio is digitised using industry standard RME or Prism A/D converters. All “born digital” legacy formats are transferred as a digital only stream.

We supply digital copies of your audio in high quality archival standard 24bit/96kHz Broadcast Wav File (BWF), and can also provide a reference/listening copy in any other digital audio format that suits your needs.
